About Me
About the blog
Relocating to a different country is never easy. But when that country is an island with its own unique culture (quite different from my pragmatic Nordic mindset with Slavic roots), the experience becomes even more distinct. For me, Sardinia was always a dream destination. I had visited several times before deciding to move, each time telling myself, “This is my place of power.”
Yet, I could never have imagined that just a few years later, I would find love here and make it my permanent home.
Despite my partner being Sardinian and supporting me in every way he could, I faced many struggles adapting to life here. That’s why I decided to create this site—a space for people like me, where anyone dreaming of visiting or living on this beautiful island can find useful information and practical starting points to build their own experiences as expats.
A Quick Note:
This blog is also a personal diary of sorts. I want it to remain a positive and respectful space, so I won’t tolerate hate, racism, or bullying.
Who I am
I was born in Ukraine and raised in Belarus, giving me a strong Slavic cultural background. Later, I moved to Germany for my studies and fell in love with the country and its people, convincing myself I would stay there forever. At least, that’s what I thought—until two years ago, when I met my partner during a workation in Sardinia.
A Few Facts About Me:
I love animals, plants, photography, meeting new people, exploring different cultures, food, TV series (especially fantasy, crime, and sci-fi), and so much more.
I work as a project manager at a marketing agency and am passionate about organizing and structuring things efficiently.
I’m a big fan of modern technology and always try to keep up with progress.
I speak four languages daily (German, Italian, English, and Russian), so please be patient if I make a few mistakes.
I believe that the essence of life lies in a positive mindset and the ability to communicate effectively—two things I work on improving every single day.
Currently, I live with my partner and our little dog, Luna, in the south of the island near Cagliari. If you happen to be in the area, feel free to reach out—maybe we can meet up and chat!
